Yesterday at the long awaited press and much anticipate press conference Fedor Emelianenko made 2 announcements. One relating to fighting in the UFC, and one related to fighting in the EA Sports MMA game. Yes, he will fight in the EA Sports MMA game, but no he is not ready to fight in the UFC due to the fact that he wants his promoter, Vadim Finlechtein of M-1 to be allowed to “co promote” all his UFC fights. So the UFC and Fedor are really no closer to making the actual UFC fights happen, and I think that is just great.
I don’t believe all the hype about Fedor and never did. He looks like a fat Russian, who is a mean street fighter, and I feel he will be exposed as just that when he actually steps out of fighting in rings and into the Octagon. His weaknesses will be exposed just like all the other Russian fighters, and Pride Champions. Cro Cop, was a magnificent Pride Champion but hasn’t done squat in the UFC. Mad Dog Keith Herring, was a great Price Champion, and was paid a lot of money to come over and promptly lose all his big fights. Fedor will be the same.
Now before you experts with all your “real mma” knowledge and brilliant brains tell me again how stupid I am for saying that, please give me some actual examples of anyone coming directly from Pride or any of the other MMA fight organizations that actually came into the UFC and lived up to the hype. What people don’t understand is that the UFC is a business and the business is not just the fights, but promoting the fights. Hyping the fights, and getting people excited about seeing the next big fight. The UFC is in the fight business. It sells fights, it sells commercials, it sells pay per view. It promotes fights and hypes fighters.
Fedor is giving the heavyweight division the hype it needs to get pay for view sales. Who is exciting in the heavyweights now? Dana is so desparate for a new heavyweight the next season of the Ultimate Fighter will feature heavyweights and the led heavyweight he is pushing is the ALL HYPE Kimbo Slice. A guy who he made fun of and called a punk, nobody who would never step foot into a UFC ring. Now with no new exciting heavyweights out there to challenge Brock Lesnar, he is actually making a big push for Kimbo, and although no one has knows what is going to happen with the new season, Kimbo is the only fighter you see being pushed to deliver ratings for the nest season. The only one, he is being hyped to get people excited about watching the show and the fights. No different with Fefor being hyped. It will sell tickets.
Fedor is being hyped as the next great UFC champion and I don’t buy it. I don’t think he can beat Brock, I don’t think he can beat Culture. I don’t think he can beat any top 5 experienced heavyweight in the UFC. And despite how much you may protest or disagree you don’t KNOW he can either. I think he will need to learn to fight in the Octagon and learn the new techniques required to be a real UFC Champion not a Strikeforce or Pride Champion. The learning curve is too steep for him to step in the UFC and win his first fight if that fight is against someone with UFC extensive experience.
I think Fedor is better off being in the EA game that being in the UFC and being exposed. He will get beat; you can take my word on it. I haven’t been wrong yet and I am not wrong on Fedor being more hype than real, when it comes to fighting in the UFC.

Beating 5-6 UFC champs wasn't enough? Knocking mofo's out within minutes on a bad night wasn't enough?
Fedor is tantamount to religion. You either believe in it or you don't. Whether Fedor comes to the UFC and destroys Brock, you still won't believe (and probably will produce another garbage article with even more BS).

Fedor is completely overrated. He has not fought anybody. No standup fighters such as 3time K1-champs Semmy Schilt and Mark Hunt, no ground wizards such as ADCC absolute champ Ricardo Arona, not a single good wrestler such as olympic wrestlers Coleman, 3 time NCAA champ Randleman, and olympic medalist Lindland. Sure, he has fought some decent fighters such as five average UFC champs that he beat seven times!
Sure he has never lost, sure all the knowledgeable fighters and commentators clearly say he is the best by far!
BUT, Dana White hasn't. And we all know Dana White says the truth everytime he speaks. He is the most honest person with the highest level of integrity and would never lie to his fans for cheap PPV money.
Brock is the very best, a legend with 10 years of experience, beating the whoswho of the superdeep UFC HW division with wizards on the ground Cheick Kongo
M-1 is the reason Fedor is not in the UFC. The own of M-1, Finkelchtein is a POS riding on Fedor's coat tails and needs Fedor to stay relative and use him as a pawn to draw UFC into a partnership. Fedors own brother said this. "And all this talk about the restrictive conditions when signing the contract with the UFC comes only from Finkelstein, who wants to promote his own business through any Fedor-UFC contract" ... "You can negotiate with the UFC. I know that their contracts are sufficiently flexible."
Dana white would love Fedor to be in UFC but he DOESN'T NEED Fedor. Fedor and M-1 need UFC.
AS for Fedor being the best and who he's beaten. Mark Coleman was washed up 10 years ago as well as Randleman.
Fedor beat Nogueira a long time ago but guess what ? Frank Mir is the only man alive to knock Nog out, gues who creamated Mir ?

UFC offered Fedor 30 MILLION DOLLARS and 6 fights but M-1 denied the contract with out being a promotion partner.

I think Fedor will get crushed, but, I also hate Brock Lesar and his terrible lack of respect for Martial Arts as a union of fighting and friendship. Its a respect for the art of fighting and he has zero knowledge of it.
I am not finished yet... the UFC HW division is sooo deep. People that say Checik Kongo is one dimensional are completely wrong! How can a one dimensional loser survive in the by far best HW division? Impossible right? Iron Chin Mir is sooo good, he fought a completely healthy and young Nogueira who was without any staph infection at all! And just cause Nogueira is thinking of retiring in a year, doesn't mean he is not in his prime anymore!
Who else do they have: An undefeated legend in Randy Couture in his very prime! Two very famous and proven fighters in Sean Carwho(?) and Kane Valasqwho(?).
As you all can see, Fedor is just toooo scared to fight in the UFC!
Brock is the real deal! Besides, Fedor has never fought in the octagon, which we all know is entirely different than the ring. Rumor has it that the gravitational constant changes inside the octagon. Fedor is not used to that!

They all suck: Anderson Silva, Lyoto Machida, Rampage Jackson, Nogueira have never fought in Pride. They are UFC inherent fighters that are head and shoulders above those Pride jocksters: Chris Leben, Rich Franklin, etc.

Definitely, Fedor risks losing to Brock. I think it's easy to see how he could lose, of course. I still think Fedor is the better fighter and would put my money on him though.
If the cage makes it more difficult to win then why did the UFC fighters that left to fight Fedor ALL lose if they've come from the harder format?

It's interesting too that while you can release 25 DVDs it's actual UFC fighters like GSP that do see why Fedor has been ranked #1 in recent years.

I agree with "completely agree"; M-1 and Fedor need the UFC more than the UFC needs them. So what if he signs with StrikeForce, what does that give them 2 showcase fighters (1 male and 1 female). Fedor WILL NEVER gets the respect he thinks he already owns until he steps into the lime light, that being UFC!!

Dana White is a promoter so his job is too talk and hype his fighters. He discredits Fedor's recent wins over Sylvia and Arlovski saying there is a reason those two were no longer in the UFC. As much as I dislike Tim Slyvia, he was beating Nogeria's ass in his last UFC fight until he got caught. Arlovski left the UFC and Dana White went on record saying they wanted to keep him. Now he talks about his once coveted UFC champions like they sucked and the HW division was weak in their reign, but now its really strong haha. They have Cheick Kongo padding his record with chumps to build up another heavyweight star.
Then there was Rich Franklin's championship reign facing the dangerous and elite in Nate Quary, David Louisou. They banned Matt Lindland and never brought him back despite Anderson Silva "clearing out the 185 division".

Fedor, and anyone in the know can see that there is no chance in hell of him beating Brock Lesnar. There's more to this than meets the eye.

Lets take a look at current Pride stars that had titles, Rampage Jackson, Anderson Silva, oh, and by the way mister genius, its the Texas Crazy Horse Heath Herring. At least get his name right. And I am sorry, but name some top 5 heavyweights that Fedor has beaten, lets look at Noguiera, lets look at Cro Cop, come on now, when these guys were in their prime Fedor slaughtered them, and wouldnt you know it, took out two former champions in less time than it took Randy to decision one. Fedor is the best pound-for-pound fighter. I guess the only way to know if he can handle the UFC is if he fought there. With that said, you must look @ Fedor's all around fighting talent, where Brock seems to want and keep you in front so he can use you as a punching bag. I strongly believe Fedor would own Brock in a fight. Rampage lived up to the hype when he came to the UFC, and Chuck Ladell got owned in his Pride fights. Comparing Pride to the UFC is like comparing apples to oranges. I think eveyone can agree that both offer professional fighters at there best. We cant say Fedor is the best untill he fights in the UFC, but I have a feeling that he would suprise alot of people with his way of doing things.
