Animal lovers of ages 6 through 11 years may find just the sort of winter respite they need at Boston's Franklin Park Zoo, thanks to the 'Habitats/Ecosystems/Biomes, Oh My!' Program. The program, which runs during vacation week from Feb. 18 to 21, will educate children on different biomes and ecosystems. In addition to seeing favorite animals up close, campers can look forward to a range of arts and crafts activities as well as behind-the-scenes tours of Franklin Park Zoo. Program hours are 9 a.m.-3 p.m., and Franklin Park Zoo requires pre-registration.

Other attractions in Franklin Park Zoo include the Tropical Forest, which is a favored winter haunt, thanks to its lush greenery, waterfalls and the temperature maintained at 72 degrees year-round. The Tropical Forest features lemurs, ocelots, western lowland gorillas and Baird’s tapirs, among its other attractions. For details about all the programs, visit the Franklin Park Zoo website.
