You don't have to travel all the way to New Orleans for authentic floats, beads, and other Mardi Gras revelry. Universal Studios Florida kicks off its Mardi Gras celebration on February 9, and it runs all the way through April 20. That gives you more than two months to take part in this annual celebration of music, food, and floats at the park.
Mardi Gras happens on select nights at Universal Studios Florida. First the parade takes to the streets, with plenty of beads and doubloons for lucky spectators who have the knack for catching the flying prizes. Then it's concert time, with a wide variety of performers. Here's the 2013 line-up:

The concerts and parade are part of your regular theme park admission. You can also browse the food booths and sample authentic New Orleans fare to get you in the Mardi Gras spirit. Enjoy entertainment from the Big Easy, too. When you hear the jazz, you might just forget that you're at Universal Orlando Resort.
