"Birds do it, bees do it, even educated fleas do it..."

February is the month when Cupid's arrows target the human heart -- or so the candy, card, and flower sellers would like us to believe, right? Or is it actually nature that dictates the amorous adventures of man -- and beast -- at this time of year?

Courtship rituals are beginning this month throughout the animal kingdom according to eNature.com.

Among the creatures "Prowling for Partners" are Raccoons, Foxes, Coyotes, skunks, Great Horned Owls, Red-winged Blackbirds, Pipevine Swallowtails and Desert Orangetip butterflies, frogs, toads and salamanders, Rainbow Trout, Largemouth Bass, Gray Seals, Humpback Whales, and many, many others.
