Enjoy The Beatles, gospel music, and Egypt all right here in the mountains. 1964...The Tribute to the Beatles is coming for a one-night presentation to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the group's appearance on the Ed Sullivan show. Saddle Up! is back for its 14th season of cowboy poetry and such (see my previous article on that, pardner). Catch it this year and see the rest of the list of things to do in February just a short drive from Knoxville.

February 1 is the 24th Annual Wilderness Wildlife Week: Visit the Pigeon Forge Events Center for this 8-day award winning event featuring over 300 free classes, lectures, workshops and daily hikes into Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

February 9 1964...The Tribute has been thrilling audiences all over the globe for over 30 years, with homages to the legendary Beatles. The show is headed to Western Carolina University for a concert to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Beatles first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. It’s a one-night-only gig, so be sure not to miss this legendary tribute to genuine rock legends. 5 p.m., John W. February 13-14 Smoky Mountain Gospel Jubilee. If you love gospel music, spend the day listening to it at the Smoky Mountain Gospel Jubilee. It will held at Country Tonite in Pigeon Forge. Country Tonite Theatre, 129 Showplace Boulevard, Pigeon Forge, Tennessee or (865) 453-2003.

February 14-15 Titanic Museum Special Event: Mrs. Helen Benziger, Margaret “Unsinkable Molly” Brown’s Great Granddaughter, will visit guests of the Titanic.

February 14-17 Valentine’s Day/Presidents Day Sidewalk Sale: Extra savings and sales galore at Pigeon River Crossings mall.

February 19-23 Saddle Up! gives every aspiring cowgirl or cowboy the chance to taste the Old West right here in the Smokies. With a lineup of legendary country-western musicians, cowboy storytelling, delicious culinary fare right off the chuckwagon, and even a cowboy church service, you’ll be ready to don your Stetson, strap on your chaps and ride off into the sunset into a wilder place and time.
