February 8: The Gasworks welcomes Distances and guests

On February 8, Albuquerque’s The Gasworks welcomes Distances, Supreme Verdict, Arroyo Deathmatch, Crushed, A Prophecy Misread, and Unleash the Baboon. Doors for this all-ages event open at 7 p.m. Entry is only $5.

Albuquerque’s Distances can get quite harsh and fast at times, although the band does play a more refined style of the Gothenburg sound with a progressive streak.

Albuquerque’s Supreme Verdict play hardcore. The band has been “keeping it scummy since 2012.”

From out of Santa Fe com Arroyo Deathmatch, which describe their sound as “pre-Edison desert folk punk. Their latest studio CD is titled Through the Fear of it.

Arizona’s Crushed play a mix of “a sound that manages to mix pop sensibility with a bone-crushing groove.” Check out the band’s six-track EP Shadows and Substance at bandcamp.

Albuquerque’s A Prophecy Misread play metalcore. Check out the band’s sound at ReverbNation.

Albuquerque’s Unleash the Baboon play a combination of brutal death metal and grindcore. They are currently hard at work on their debut full-length studio CD.
