February 4th forecast for Western New York

A disturbance will move just to the south of Western New York today and bring continued chances for lake snow to the southeast of Lake Erie. Lake Effect snow warnings continue for the southern half of Erie County as well as Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties where up to 6 inches of additional accumulation could fall through early Tuesday morning. Areas well north of Buffalo will also be impacted by snow coming off Lake Ontario. This would be confined to areas very close to the Ontario shoreline for Niagara, Orleans and Monroe counties. Otherwise, cold high pressure will begin to move into the region by Tuesday with snows tapering off. We'll remain partly to mostly cloudy through the day with daytime high temperatures staying below normal through mid-week.
