February 29: Launchpad presents Hardcore Road Warriors Tour

On February 29, Albuquerque’s own Launchpad presents the Hardcore Road Warriors Tour, which features the following killer bands: The Casualties, Toxic Holocaust, Torture Victim, and A.P.D. Doors for this all-ages show open at 7:00 pm, with the first band taking the stage at 7:30 pm. Entry is only $12.

Founded in New York City in 1990, The Casualties play punk rock. The band was established as an effort to bring back the hardcore punk sound and style of many British hardcore punk bands, such as The Partisans and The Exploited. The band’s latest full-length CD is titled We are all We have.

Oregon’s Toxic Holocaust are in essence a one-man band, with Joel Grind serving as mastermind to various thralls in the band’s servitude. The band play thrash metal with facets of death and black metal. Toxic Holocaust’s latest full-length CD is titled Conjure & Command.

Hailing from Albuquerque, Torture Victim describe themselves as follows: “An in-your-face extreme-metal assault.” The band has been working on a new CD and expects to release it soon. Bands they have shared the stage with include Goatwhore, Cephalic Carnage, and Weedeater.

Formed in the fall of 2011, Albuquerque’s A.P.D. play a searing combination of punk rock and hardcore. According to the band, they stole their moniker “from the biggest gang in town and mutated onto the Albuquerque hardcore punk scene to make some noise and stir sh*t up!”

Around since 1997, Albuquerque’s Launchpad has played host to bands of numerous genres, including punk, indie rock, and metal. The Launchpad is located on 618 Central Avenue Southwest, which is between 6th and 7th streets.
