From director, producer and writer Tim Chambers comes the all new heartfelt basketball film The Mighty Macs. It stars Carla Gugino (Sucker Punch, Mr. Popper’s Penquins, Faster), David Boreanaz (Bones, Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Marley Shelton (Scream 4, Planet Terror) and Academy Award and Tony Award winner Ellen Burstyn (Big Love, Requiem for a Dream, The Exorcist).
Based on an amazing true story, Gugino plays Cathy Rush, a rookie women’s basketball coach at the nearly bankrupt Immaculata College in Pennsylvania. Despite all odds, she leads the small Roman Catholic school’s ragtag team to victory at the first ever AIAW Women's Basketball Tournament in 1972.
Cameo appearances include Cathy and Ed Rush, as well as the entire starting lineup of Immaculata's 1972 women's basketball team. The Mighty Macs sends an inspirational message to females of all ages that nothing is impossible when there is hope and faith.
Special features include deleted scenes, the making of The Mighty Macs and an ESPN segment of The Mighty Macs. The DVD will be available at all major New York City retailers including Best Buy, Target and Walmart (in Long Island).
