It’s National Banana Bread Day, and it’s the perfect time to make some – Buffalo-area Dash’s Markets have bananas on sale for $.39 per pound this week! To celebrate, here is an easy banana bread recipe from the Betty Crocker website – check the link below for some variations on this simple, basic recipe.
Easy Cake Mix Banana Bread (adapted from bettycrocker.com):
- 1 box yellow cake mix of your choice
- 1/3 cup oil
- 3 eggs
- 4 mashed bananas
Pre-heat oven to 350-degrees F. Grease or spray a 9” x 5” loaf pan and lightly flour it.
Beat all ingredients listed above in a bowl until well blended, then pour in loaf pan. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center of bread comes out clean. Let cool for 10 minutes before removing from loaf pan, then cool completely on rack before serving.
The link above includes eight variations on this original recipe, using different flavors of cake mix as well as add-ins. Experiment and have fun!
