February 22, 2013: What to watch at the movies

February 22, 2013: Four new movies are being released in theaters this weekend. Which one will you be interested in seeing?

Snitch - Inspired by true events, the fast-paced action thriller "Snitch" stars Dwayne Johnson as a father whose teenage son is wrongly accused of a drug distribution crime and is looking at a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 10 years. Desperate and determined to rescue his son at all costs, he makes a deal with the U.S. Attorney to work as an undercover informant and infiltrate a drug cartel on a dangerous mission- risking everything, including his family and his own life. The ensemble cast includes Susan Sarandon, Benjamin Bratt and Barry Pepper.

Dark Skies - From the producer of "Paranormal Activity," "Insidious," and "Sinister" comes "Dark Skies": a supernatural thriller that follows a young family living in the suburbs. As husband and wife Daniel and Lacey Barret witness an escalating series of disturbing events involving their family, their safe and peaceful home quickly unravels. When it becomes clear that the Barret family is being targeted by and unimaginably terrifying and deadly force, Daniel and Lacey take matters in their own hands to solve the mystery of what is after their family.

Inescapable - Adib Abdel Kareem (Alexander Siddig) had made the perfect life for himself in Toronto: beautiful wife, two grown daughters, great job. He is a confident man, at ease in any setting - his Syrian background betrayed only by a slight accent and his daughters' names, Muna and Leila. Adib is a man who has successfully built a life from scratch – a man who had left his past behind. Until his daughter, Muna, disappears in Damascus and his past catches up to him all at once.

Bless Me, Ultima - Based on the controversial novel by acclaimed author Rudolfo Anaya, "Bless Me, Ultima" is a turbulent coming-of-age story about a young boy, Antonio (Luke Ganalon), growing up in New Mexico during World War II. When a mysterious curandera (healer) named Ultima (Miriam Colon) comes to live with his family, she teaches him about the power of the spiritual world. As their relationship grows, Antonio begins to question his strict upbringing by his parents (Dolores Heredia & Benito Martinez). Through a series of mysterious and at times terrifying events, Antonio must grapple with questions about the nature of divinity and his own destiny, the relationship between good vs. evil and ultimately how to reconcile Ultima's powers with those of the God of his church.
