Another winter storm impacting West Michigan for Saturday. Unlike the last few Arctic blasts, this one will slide across the state from the south. Right now the heaviest snow, with accumulations of at least 6 inches, may fall south of a line from Grand Haven to Alma. The Grand Rapids National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory for all of West Michigan until 10 PM Saturday

Unlike the last few storms which featured a very light and fluffy snow, this storm will create a very heavy and wet snowfall. From the Grand Rapids National Weather Service, The high water content of the snow will put additional weight on already stressed flat and low pitch rooftops. The snow will also be more difficult to shovel than recent snowfalls.”

Periods of heavy snowfall and slick roads will create poor travel conditions for Saturday.
