Lexington, KY has many wonderful fun activities available to the community. Some of the events are free and others you must pay to participate. Here are a few of the local events that are family friendly.

The Arboretum offers many classes and workshops. Many of the events are free and are for many age groups ranging from children to adults.

Family Fun Time - Let’s Sculpt! with Maggie Rogers for 2-4 year olds and a parent. This event requires registration. The event will be on Wednesdays throughout February, 9:30am to 11:00am at The Living Arts & Science Center. For more information contact Heather Lyons at 8592525222 or 8592552284.

Kentucky Sport Boat and Recreation Show, February 6-9 at Rupp Arena.

Free Chocolate Sampling Extravaganza offered by Good Foods Market and Cafe, February 7, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. The event will include live music and a free Valentine’s Day giveaway.

Fantasy & Fairytales Dance, February 7. It is an under 21 event for teens. It will be from 7:00pm to 10:00pm.

Bluegrass Warhorses VS Dayton Sharks - Indoor Football, February 8, starting at 7:30pm. This is a youth football event. It will take place at the Altech Arena located at the Kentucky Horse Park. For more information contact Starr Williams at 8593966027.

Captain Louie Jr., a musical presented by the Academy for Creative Excellence. The presentation will start at 2:30pm and 7:00pm on February 8 and 9 at Lexington Christian Academy. For ticket information call 859257TICS from 2:00pm - 3:30pm.

Lexphi’s February Peanut Butter & Jelly Concerts, February 8 at 10:00am and 11:00am. The J.M. Smucker Company sponsors the event at Sayre School. For more information contact Lexington Philharmonic at 8592334226.

Pirate & Princess Adventure at Rupp Arena on February 16, presented by Disney Live!

Luminosity Unveiling Ceremony, February 21 at Triangle Park starting at 5:30pm. This is an exhibition featuring artwork created by Canadian artist Caitlind r.c. Brown and Wayne Garrett.

Flat Stanley, presented by Lexington Children’s Theatre on February 23 through March 13.
