For Tuesday, February 5th 2013 LA TV Insider Examiner recommends:
Hart of Dixie (The CW, 8 p.m.) – “Take Me Home, Country Roads” – George (Scott Porter) is given the responsibility of watching Tansy’s (guest star Mircea Monroe) most prized possession, her dog, but panics when the dog goes missing. Wade (Wilson Bethel) starts to feel frustrated by the lack of alone time with Zoe (Rachel Bilson), especially when she is focused more on not losing her good status in the town to a new doctor, Jonah (guest star Travis Van Winkle), who also happens to be Brick’s (Tim Matheson) nephew. Brick is ready to let the town know about his relationship with Shelby (guest star Laura Bell Bundy), but Lemon (Jaime King) and Magnolia (guest star Claudia Lee) are doing everything they can to get rid of her. Meanwhile, Lavon (Cress Williams) wants to take a chance on a new relationship, but first has to clear the air with one person.
Raising Hope (FOX, 8 p.m.) – “Yo Zappa Do, Part Two” / “Sex, Clown, and Videotape” – Jimmy (Lucas Neff) gets work as an extra in Los Angeles when Hope (Baylie and Rylie Cregut) gets tapped as a new actor on her favorite show, but the series star ends up being horrible to him. Then in the second episode, Burt (Garret Dillahunt) and Virginia (Martha Plimpton) lose their storage locker in an auction and their sex tape to another couple because of it. And Sabrina (Shannon Woodward) finally investigates Jimmy’s sleepwalking habit.
Smash (NBC, 9 p.m.) – “On Broadway” / “The Fallout” – In the one-hour season premiere, back from a successful run in Boston, Eileen (Anjelica Huston), Julia (Debra Messing), and Tom (Christian Borle) are blindsided by both personal and professional obstacles as they seek to take “Bombshell” to Broadway. Karen (Katharine McPhee) consults her new mentor, Broadway star Veronica “Ronnie” Moore (guest star Jennifer Hudson), as she finds herself on the brink of fame, but her success may come at cost to Ivy (Megan Hilty). A new talent (Jeremy Jordan) is discovered in an unexpected place. Meanwhile, Derek (Jack Davenport) copes with a damaging accusation. You can read our full advance review here.
The Mindy Project (FOX, 9:30 p.m.) – “Harry & Mindy” – Mindy (Mindy Kaling) tries to solve Jaime's (guest star BJ Novak) best friend problem by pairing up Lucy (guest star Eva Amurri Martino) with Danny (Chris Messina) on a Valentine’s Day double date. However, Danny and Lucy hit it off immediately and sparks fly, ruining Mindy and Jaime's date. Meanwhile, on his way to his hot Valentine’s hook-up, Jeremy (Ed Weeks) helps Morgan (Ike Barinholtz) with his pickup skills.
Cougar Town (TBS, 10 p.m.) – “Runnin’ Down a Dream” – Jules (Courteney Cox) considers a career change, while Bobby (Brian van Holt) embarks on a new venture, selling hamburgers from a truck but business suffers due to Ellie’s (Christa Miller) particular brand of customer service.
