For Monday, February 4th 2013 LA TV Insider Examiner recommends:
The Carrie Diaries (The CW, 8 p.m.) – “Fright Night” – When Carrie (AnnaSophia Robb) is invited to a Halloween party in the city by Larissa (Freema Agyman), she decides to invite Walt (Brenden Dooling) to go with her to keep her company. It doesn’t take long before the night goes awry and Carrie is forced to babysit Larissa, who has clearly taken too many drugs. Walt finds himself in an uncomfortable position after a party guest gets a little too close for comfort. Elsewhere, Maggie (Katie Findlay) convinces Mouse (Ellen Wong) to go with her to Sebastian’s (Austin Butler) Halloween party at the diner to help keep tabs on him. After Doritt’s (Stefania Owen) attempt to sneak out of the house is thwarted, she discovers hanging out with her father (Matt Letscher) isn’t so bad.
Switched at Birth (ABC Family, 8 p.m.) – "The Acquired Inability to Escape" – Daphne (Katie Leclerc) may have taken on more than she can handle, while Kathryn (Lea Thompson) volunteers to direct the play at Bay's new school. Meanwhile, Toby (Lucas Grabeel) approaches his grandfather (guest star William Lucking) for a college recommendation.
The Following (FOX, 9 p.m.) – “The Poet’s Fire” – A new follower is found in Rick (guest star Michael Drayer), who is on a determined path to follow through on Carroll’s (James Purefoy) orders. Hardy (Kevin Bacon) and the FBI attempt to predict Rick’s course of revenge, which leads to a surprising outcome. Meanwhile, Paul’s (Adan Canto) jealousy over Emma (Valorie Curry) and Jacob’s (Nico Tortorella) relationship leads to a breaking point, and the origin of Hardy and Carroll’s relationship is revealed.
Dallas (TNT, 9 p.m.) – “Sins of the Father” – Evidence in Tommy’s disappearance mysteriously emerges when Christopher (Jesse Metcalfe) tries to tie Pamela (Julie Gonzalo) to the crime. Meanwhile, J.R. (Larry Hagman) and John Ross (Josh Henderson) try to orchestrate a double power play; Pamela tries to take control of Ewing Energies; and a new member of the family arrives, while Harris’ (Mitch Pileggi) pushes Ann (Brenda Strong) to her breaking point.
Hawaii Five-0 (CBS, 10 p.m.) – “Hookman” – Five-0 investigates when a mysterious man targets select police officers for revenge and McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) is the next on his hit list. This episode is an updated version of the one that aired in 1973, in the original series.
