Every day there are thousands of homeless pets in shelters in metro Atlanta who all have the same wish - a forever home. They are dreaming of waking up in a home where they are loved and cherished and are a member of the family.
Throughout the month of July Furkids and SmallDog Rescue and Humane Society in metro Atlanta is offering an adoption special for all black dogs – the adoption fee is reduced from $275 to $100. Click here for more information on this adoption special.
All month I will be featuring Furkids black dogs who want to be your furry forever buddy. These adorable pooches want nothing more than their very own human, plenty of food, a friend to play with and a warm place to sleep at night.
Today’s featured dog is Sister Sledge – a three-month old terrier mix. Here is more about Sister Sledge from the Furkids’ website:
A Good Samaritan happened upon a litter of nine starving puppies, whose owner readily gave them to her. The Good Samaritan cared for the puppies until Furkids/SmallDog Rescue could retrieve them. We immediately took the puppies to a veterinarian who began treating their malnourished bodies. Despite their condition, the puppies all survived and were able to go into foster homes where they are well fed and loved. Sister Sledge loves to be held and will snuggle her head underneath your chin or on your shoulder. She is also very smart - she will sit before being fed and will sit for treats. She has been well socialized with adults, children and other dogs. She loves to play chase, keep-away and hide and seek with other dogs.
