On September 21-22, animal lovers in metro Atlanta will have a special opportunity to tour Georgia’s largest cage-free, no-kill shelter for homeless cats, when Furkids holds its annual open house and tour. Lots of Furkids’ cats and dogs will be on site for meeting and greeting potential volunteers, adopters and foster caregivers. Click here for more information on the Open House event.
Between now and the Open House weekend, I will be featuring Furkids’ kitties who are available for adoption.
Tropicana is a three-month old gray female short hair kitty. Here is Tropicana’s description from the Furkids’ website:
Aloha! My name is Tropicana. My siblings and I were born in a garage after our mom arrived at a home looking for a place to deliver. We lived here for our first 6 weeks of life while the homeowner fed our mom so that we would be healthy. But this was not a safe environment. You see the door was open and there was a hawk that sat outside waiting for a chance to grab one of us. We would hide behind a freezer sometimes. The nice person sent out a plea and got in contact with a Furkids volunteer foster who took us in so that we would be able to find great homes. We were given a Las Vegas hotels naming theme and lots of love in our foster home.
Here is a little about me. I am a lovely gray girl with a tiny patch of white on my neck. I am very playful. I love to run after toys that roll, but I especially love to jump up for anything dangling in the air. When you are sitting down in the room with me, I will come over and ask you to pet me by leaping onto the chair beside you. I'm not much of a lap kitty, but I am young and playful so maybe I will be one day. I do purr when you pick me up, which shows that I am a happy girl. I am a fun-loving kitty who will make a great addition to your family. Please consider me with one of my siblings for twice the joy!
