Furkids

Furkids is Georgia's largest no-kill animal shelter which cares for over 700 cats and dogs each day. The Furkids’ mission is “to provide a no-kill shelter for our rescued animals where they can experience the best care in a loving environment until they are adopted; to find permanent, loving, homes for our rescued animals; and to inform the public about pet overpopulation, promote sterilization and provide information for low-cost high-quality spay/neuter organizations.”

In 2013 Furkids rescued over 1,500 cats and dogs and found loving, forever homes for over 1,300 animals. The goal for 2014 is to rescue 2,014 animals.

Throughout the year I will be featuring Furkids’ cats who are available for adoption.

Mayflower is a four-year old female gray tabby kitty. Here is Mayflower’s description from the Furkids website:

Hi, my name is Mayflower and I am a very sweet girl. Furkids rescued me and my 3 kittens from Floyd County Animal Control during their annual Thanksgiving pull in 2012, which answers any question about my naming theme. I am so grateful that they saved our lives. I am a pretty gray tabby girl with a big heart. I enjoy playing with catnip toys and my favorite game is chasing the laser pointer. I also like to play “follow the human”. Taking cat naps and looking out the window are some of my other pastimes. I would do best as someone's only furry feline. If I sound like the kind of cat you have been looking for, please contact Furkids so we can meet. What are you waiting for? The sooner we meet, the sooner I can settle in to my forever home with you!
