Featured dog of the day - senior German shepherd left at animal control

Pat Gregoire

On July 2, "Sparky," a German shepherd, was left at the Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control facility in Baldwin Park, Calif.

The nine-year-old dog has entered her twilight years and for reasons unknown, she will not be spending the remainder of her life with her family. Unfortunately, Sparky's true personality is a so many other dogs who arrive to animal control facilities, she is now just a name, and a number. Her history and her likes and dislikes, are unknown.

She is a dog without a family who is waiting to be noticed, and hoping to walk free from the lonely kennel run which is now her only "home."

Sparky's chances of making it out of the facility alive can be increased if her information is seen by more people. Taking a moment to network this beautiful senior's photo and adoption information could be the difference between her life, and her death.
