Feasting off of the modern world----does not mean an iPhone, Skype....even an Instagram..it means sculpted butter, forms for making Rice Krispies Christmas treats, and French vanilla flavored snowmen marshmallows.
The 2011 movie, Butter, was exactly that...a woman sculpting butter as art.
The San Diego County Fair has had displays of this art form in years gone by ---Land O'Lakes comes to mind as a sponsor.
Now, available for your Christmas dinner table- butter sculpted like a turkey. Not a Butterball turkey...not a generic turkey but a butter turkey. Or in text language ><:>.
Do not even get your relatives started on this as a hobby---butter sculpting; tell them to stick with carving/sculpting log bears with chainsaws. Change will not be good for them.
Alas another nifty invention is forms to create Rice Krispies treats as Christams trees and snowmen. Gone are the old-fashioned square or oblong forms from this Christmas treat genre.
The choices for marshmallows available in the non-modern world were regular sized and mini-marshmallows. Throw in marshmallow crème for Christmas time fudge makers.
The modern world now offers French vanilla marshmallows shaped like snowmen. Perfect to go along with all those cans of hot chocolate you will receive from every other person as a present.
Make snowmen garland strings. Or a Christmas s'more. Say even a snowman wreath. The opportunities to use and abuse these men are endless. Snowflake marshmallows are also available.
So along with doing all your Christmas cards online, a tweet, or one simple "Happy Holidays" greeting on your FaceBook page....do include the above mentioned modern inventions in your life.
These products are available at your local Albertson's or Von's Grocery Stores.
Feasting on the modern world...indeed.
