It was a perfect summer day for the 19th Annual Bodega Seafood, Art & Wine Festival. People turned out in droves to enjoy live music, fresh seafood, art, and wine during the two-day celebration. The event was held at Watts Ranch in Bodega, the town made famous by Alfred Hitchcock’s film The Birds.
Three stages of musicians and performers kept guests entertained. Hungry patrons enjoyed a plethora of seafood and other delicious choices prepared by 15 restaurants and catering companies. Seafood included oysters, calamari, shrimp, crab, salmon and more. And there was even paella with seafood, of course.
Artists and craftspeople displayed their creations while festival goers sought them out to purchase their beautiful wares. While some of the vendors were local, many had traveled a great distance to be there from across the U.S. to as far away as Australia. Items ranged from paintings, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, clothing, accessories and home decor.
It wouldn’t be a festival without beer and wine. Sonoma County artisan brewers and wineries were well represented in the mix. Guests could purchase logo glasses and drink tickets to try a variety of offerings. With over 45 wineries and microbreweries from which to choose, everyone was happy.
And if that wasn’t enough, the festival donates a portion of the proceeds to the Bodega Volunteer Fire Department and the Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods, a non-profit organization working in conjunction with the California State Parks in the Russian River region.
