Feast of the Fields culinary experience during Colorado's Palisade Peach Festival

Feast of the Fields High Country Orchards Photo: Jim CoxFoodies get on your road trip hat and book your Feast of the Fields culinary experience, Friday and Saturday, August 20 and 21. Held in conjunction with the Palisade Peach Festival,  this dining experience takes from the farm-to-table theme by placing the table in the orchard and serving an elegant four course dinner while enjoying music under the stars. The featured produce is the tasty Palisade peaches harvest paired with the area’s other specialty: Palisade wines.

Although the Friday evening, Feast in the Fields event at Z’s Orchard is sold out, Saturday evening’s event at High Country Orchards is still open. (Seating is limited and reservations are required. Price is $95 plus tax per person.) Both orchards offer outstanding settings and vistas and are located a short distance from Palisade on East Orchard Mesa.

“Saturday evening, the Feast moves to High Country Orchards,” according to event coordinator Jerome Strack. “Guests will enjoy dining, wine and music under the stars with breathtaking views of the Grand Valley. The food will be catered by Le Rouge Restaurant and Amy’s Courtyard. Featured wines come from Colterris of Theresa’s Vineyard, Maison La Belle Vie, Two Rivers Winery, Plum Creek Cellars and Canyon Wind Cellars."

Make it a staycation and attend one of Colorado’s top agricultural events, the Palisade Peach Festival runs Thursday, August 19 through Sunday August 22 and offers plenty of other activities, from parades to vineyard tours. Reportedly this popular celebration of “Peach Days” dates back to the late 1800’s.  Last year more than 31,500 visitors attended the Peach Festival over the 4-day event.
