Reaper of Souls is the title of the Diablo 3 expansion, picking up immediately after events of the core game. The Black Soulstone, an artifact of pure evil with the power to bring Diablo, the Lord of Terror, back yet again, has been hidden deep within a secluded location deep within the mortal realms. And of course, since there wouldn’t be much of a story otherwise, the stone is stolen by a new antagonist and you the player have to make things right.
So, with a new expansion comes new content. Reaper of Souls adds a new fifth act to the original game’s four-act story, taking players to the kingdom of Westmarch and the Pandemonium Fortress, through an undead plague for a final showdown with Malthael, a fallen archangel reborn as the Angel of Death. The level cap has been raised to 70, the core five classes have been rebalanced, new loot and enemies have been added, and a new character class joins the fray. The Crusader, a tank class specializing in heavy armor and defensive magic, is basically the Paladin from Diablo 2 or at least appears to be extremely similar at the time of writing.

The business of making awesome games as usual for Blizzard, something that can redeem a disappointing entry in a beloved franchise, or a sign that the old Diablo magic really has left Blizzard for good?
