FDA has issued recall notice on 3 Fellers Chocolate Cream Pies

It is a sad day when your scrumptious Chocolate Cream Pie gets a recall notice. But unfortunately it's true. Although 3 Fellers LLC has not received any complaints of health concerns, they will not take any chances. The recall notice was issued by 3 Fellers LLC via the FDA on November 13, 2013.

The problem is 3 Fellers LLC noticed that some of their pies did not list the ingredient of almonds on their product label. Therefore, those who are allergic to nuts could have a possibly life threatening reaction after consuming the pie.

3 Fellers LLC, who provide gourmet gluten free goodies to the marketplace has issued the voluntary recall on it's Chocolate Cream Pies with UPC # 891796002732 and BEST BY DATES prior to 5/7/2014. However, it gets a bit confusing because the pies that have the same BEST BY DATES but have almonds (potential allergen) listed in on the ingredient list are not included in this recall.

The Chocolate Cream Pies in question were only distributed to Southern California, Virginia, Maryland, District of Columbia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Ohio, and Kentucky. And again, it's only the Chocolate Cream Pies that DO NOT have the almonds listed on the ingredient list and no other products.

It is recommended that those with a nut allergy not consume the pies and discard them immediately. It is safe to say however, that the pies are still fine to eat for those that do not have a nut allergy.
