It was difficult in the second half when we were down a man, but we were resilient. Our center backs and taller guys defend the box extremely well late in the match when they had chance after chance.” Midfielder Sam Cronin said after the FC Dallas game.

Kenny Copper looks to be the upfront replacement for Dempsey and MLS assist leader Obefami Martins will be on hand to provide pin point passes to Cooper and wide passes to Marco Poppas and Lamar Neagle as they make long overlapping runs that should put pressure on the San Jose back line.

“ The goal is for our team to continue to play way it has been with everyone creating space and chances for each other on offense, said Sounders FC Coach Sigi Schmid. The overlapping runs by Neagle and Poppa should give Seattle Sounders FC center midfielder Gonzalo Pineda space to create one -two combinations with Martins.
