Colorado started well and in the 25th minute they finally broke through for the goal that they deserved as Dershon Brown was able to make a run and chip the ball over Raul Fernandez.
But eight minutes later a free-kick gave Dallas an opportunity and they took it, with some help from Andres Escobar, who saw Jair Benitez’s shot deflect off him and past the keeper.
That seemed to spark FC Dallas on as they looked to try and find a goal that puts them in front and started to continue to run at the Colorado goal and create chances.
That attacking play paid off in stoppage time, and again it came off a deflection as a rebound allowed Zach Loyd to pounce, with his effort deflecting off of a Colorado defender to give FC Dallas a half-time lead.
But yet again the lead did not last very long as within the first ten minutes Colorado were back on level terms as they earned a corner, which allowed Jose Mari to leap highest and head home the equalizer.
But with the response to the goal, FC Dallas responded by going for the match as the Texan team started to take control of the match hunting for a goal to take the lead.
Fabian Castillo was able to make a superb run in the 62nd minute after winning the ball at half way and ran through the Colorado defense and launch a shot from the corner of the penalty area to put FC Dallas in front.
Colorado tried to attack looking to find another equalizer as they went for the goal, but they were unable to break through a determined FC Dallas defense.
The win is Dallas’ first victory in eight matches after an horrific run which sees Dallas get back on track as they try and get back in the hunt.
