FBI raids Scooter Store has become a trending topic on major search engines this week after the Daily Mail UK reported this Friday, Feb. 22, that over 150 FBI agents recently searched the Texas headquarters of The Scooter Store by force. The Scooter Store stands as America’s number one supplier of mobility vehicles, and the company is currently under investigation after possibly being involved in a Medicare fraud of nearly $100 million.
The Scooter Store has been accused of harassment toward doctors and medical professionals with incessant surgery visits and phone calls in an attempt to “wear them down” in the hopes of selling patients who do not (potentially yet) have any need of these vehicles yet.
The FBI raids Scooter Store began to trend after a majority of the 1,200 workers in the company’s headquarters were made to leave the department this Wednesday when the FBI suddenly arrived, searching for hidden billings and other documents that could possibly lead to criminal charges if found. The employees were instructed to not move or bring anything before leaving the building, and could not re-enter the company’s headquarters on Thursday.
The FBI raid may have also come as a result of CBS News pulling a hard-hitting exposé on the company this January for over-billing Medicare by nearly $110 million between 2009 until 2012.
