Last week on Days, Carly and Nathan tried to revive a young patient who had been shot, but he died. The boy’s mother arrived and Carly had to break the news to her. Later, after watching Bo and Hope leave together, Carly ordered the wrong dosage of medication for a patient. Nathan overheard and corrected her. When Carly thanked Nathan, he suggested Carly was working too many double shifts and should take a few days off. Nathan also reminded Carly that it was his last day. Carly wished him luck, said he was an excellent doctor and said she was sorry it didn’t work out between him and Melanie. Carly admitted that she knew how Nathan felt.
Jennifer went to the hospital to apologize for meddling in Carly and Daniel’s personal lives. When Jennifer heard how much Carly had been working, she offered to take her to dinner that evening. Carly agreed to take the night off. As Carly walked along the pier, she saw Bo and Hope kissing. Carly went back to the hospital where Nadine was about to give a sleeping patient a tranquilizer. Carly said she’d give her the tranquilizer later and had Nadine take the patient to surgery. Alone in the room, Carly thought about how badly it hurt to see Bo kissing Hope. Crying, she injected herself with the tranquilizer. Later, Daniel could tell she’d been crying and asked if she was OK. Carly admitted to having a meltdown but said she felt much better.
Ciara asked Hope if she could have a doll she’d seen. Hope told Ciara the doll was very expensive and she would have to save her allowance to buy it. They went to the hospital where Bo was doing paperwork for the shooting victim. Ciara asked Bo for the doll and, distracted, he said she could have it. When Bo gave Ciara money, Hope asked to speak to him privately and explained that they needed to be in agreement with Ciara. Bo agreed and apologized. Ciara thought Bo and Hope were arguing and sadly told Theo she would have to run away after all.
Later in the week, Hope was helping Bo and the police station when she realized Jocelyn was an hour late bringing Ciara and Theo to her. She called Jocelyn and panicked when Jocelyn said she couldn’t find the kids, but moments later Jocelyn said they were fine. When Jocelyn brought the kids to the station she said they had been trying to scale a fence. Bo lectured Ciara, but Hope said her safety was all that mattered. The kids were ushered into an examination room so Bo and Hope could talk. Theo said it seemed like her mommy was sad, and Ciara said that Hope was always says because of her.
After giving Phillip back her wedding ring and saying goodbye to Parker, Melanie found Brady at the Java Café and cried on his shoulder. When Chloe arrived, Melanie pulled herself together and left. Chloe warned Brady about going after Melanie, but Brady reminded her she was in no position to judge. Chloe said trouble tended to follow Melanie. Dario arrived and Brady asked him to leave town. Dario accused Brady of not caring about or trusting Arianna, but Brady grabbed him and told him not to talk about Arianna with him. Brady slipped Dario some cash and told him to leave town.
Dario met Justin on the pier and gave him the money from Brady so Justin could find him a private investigator. He said he was working on the docks and could afford to pay for it honestly. Dario walked away but overheard Justin speaking to Phillip about his divorce settlement with Melanie. When Dario realized Melanie was getting $5 million, he muttered that she needed to share the wealth. Later, Melanie walked by and she and Dario traded insults. Brady walked up and asked what was going on. Melanie kissed Brady and asked if he was ready for their date. When Dario walked away, Melanie apologized and explained that she wanted Dario to go away. Brady said for appearance’s sake he should take her on a date.
EJ and Taylor made out in the living room of the DiMera mansion. Taylor stopped him and said she couldn’t hurt her sister. She assumed EJ would leave Nicole for her. EJ said he had no intentions of leaving Nicole and that she’d never have to find out about them. Taylor asked if EJ was asking her to have an affair. EJ said that’s what would probably happen. Taylor said she wouldn’t do that to her sister. As they talked, Fay and Nicole arrived home. Nicole went upstairs to check on Sydney while Fay realized the door was locked. EJ opened the door and greeted Fay warmly while Fay looked at Taylor suspiciously. When EJ left, Fay demanded to know if EJ was cheating on Nicole. Taylor insisted that he wasn’t. Later Fay asked what was going on between Fay and EJ, but Taylor wouldn’t tell her anything.
Later, EJ and Taylor met in the garden to clear the air. EJ apologized for his actions, complimented Taylor on her integrity, and vowed to back off and respect her wishes. Taylor warned him about using reverse psychology but EJ swore he was being sincere. He said he wouldn’t do that to someone he loved. Taylor seemed shocked by his admittance, but EJ told her he’d loved her since he first spotted her on the pier. Taylor said he needed to focus on making Nicole happy.
At the hospital, after Lexi examined Fay, Taylor admitted to Lexi that EJ’s confession had made her love him even more. Lexi warned Taylor that EJ wasn’t usually a selfless person. Taylor assured her that he meant what he’d said. Taylor decided the only way to make things right was to move out of the mansion and leave Salem. She knew Nicole would be upset and Taylor felt she had no choice but to tell the truth. She asked Nicole to meet her at the Brady Pub so she could break the news.
Fake Rafe was asleep on the couch in the loft when his phone rang. He answered and assured Stefano he’d follow through with his plans. Sami arrived home and Fake Rafe tried to have sex with her. Sami said no, but Fake Rafe continued to pressure her for sex. When Fake Rafe pinned her down on the couch, Sami slapped him and told him never to touch her again. He pretended to be confused, but Sami said she’d tried everything to get her husband back and just didn’t think she could recover from his accident. Fake Rafe pretended to be hurt and said the kids still loved her, but Sami said she needed to be cautious. Fake Rafe said he’d sleep on the couch that night and Sami agreed that was for the best. Fake Rafe muttered that he might make Stefano’s deadline after all.
Kate went to the loft and told Sami that Allie was enjoying her time with Lucas and her new nanny. Kate mentioned that Allie didn’t want to come home if Rafe was still around. Sami was short with Kate, but Kate encouraged Sami to confide in her since it was in Allie’s best interest. Sami admitted that Rafe had changed and fought tears as she said it was probably over between them.
Vivian vowed to take Kate and Stefano down despite Stefano’s warning to stay away or he’d squash her like a bug. Vivian cornered Nicole and asked for her help in dethroning Stefano and Kate so she and EJ could run the DiMera clan. Nicole admitted to not liking Kate but warned Vivian not to cross Stefano. Frustrated that Nicole refused to help, Vivian threatened to come after Nicole next. Nicole ignored her. Later, Gus showed Vivian a piece of paper with a series of numbers. He explained that it was the security code to the DiMera mansion which he’d figured out by following the maid home and spying on her. Vivian praised Gus for his brilliance.
At the DiMera mansion, Fay’s nurse noticed she wasn’t eating. Fay said she was too upset to eat and wanted to speak to her daughters. The nurse suggested she take a nap until her daughters came home and tried to force Fay to take a sedative. When the nurse left, Fay spit the pills out.
EJ met with Stefano and Fake Rafe at the mansion, demanding to know why it was so urgent they speak. Fake Rafe bragged about sleeping on the couch the night before and said they were ready to proceed with the next part of the plan. EJ didn’t want to discuss things in the mansion but Stefano said no one was home, the staff had the afternoon off and Fay had been slipped a sedative. They discussed their plans as Fay listened from outside. When she heard the truth about Rafe, she gasped. The men came rushing to the door, but Fay was hiding upstairs. Stefano said no one was there and he and EJ left.
Distraught, Fay picked up the phone and called Nicole. Nicole, who was sitting with Taylor at the Brady Pub, answered. “Honey, I need you to listen to me,” Fay said anxiously. Fake Rafe stormed in, grabbed the phone out of Fay’s hand and hung up. He accused Fay of overhearing their conversation, but Fay said she was upstairs the whole time. Fay said Nicole would be there to check on her and Fake Rafe said maybe that was good since he wouldn’t mind getting a piece of Nikki Nikki. At the pub, Nicole and Taylor agreed that something was wrong with their mother and rushed out the door.
Fay pushed past Fake Rafe and rushed into the foyer. He followed her and accused her of knowing he wasn’t the real Rafe Hernandez. Fake Rafe dragged Fay up the stairs, muttered that it was time for her to have an accident, and shoved her back down the stairs. She landed with a thud just as Nicole and Taylor reached the front door.
