Boston-based artist Fay Chandler will exhibit work from her 50-year career in an exhibition titled, Just As I Am in the Cyclorama Building at the Boston Center for the Arts September 16th through September 27th, 2010.
As Chandler celebrates her 88th birthday, she surveys work from her career spanning more than five decades. Of her work Chandler says, "Thinking, meditating, dreaming - the sources of my work are as mixed as the materials which go into it. The boundaries between my three dimensional works and paintings fade. The ongoing process challenges me to examine the natural relationships that exist between visible forms and my abstract mental images."
All sales proceeds from this exhibition will go to benefit The Art Connection, and any unsold work at the end of the exhibition will be donated to The Art Connection’s non-profit community partners. Fay Chandler founded The Art Connection in 1995 as an organization that facilitates the donation of original art between artists and nonprofits such as schools and homeless shelters.
The opening reception for Just As I Am is Thursday, September 16, 2010, from 5-7 pm. For directions visit the Boston Center for the Arts website.
