Faulconer gets BIOCOM's people

Repulican Kevin Faulconer got help proving he deserves to do the mayor's job on Thursday. BIOCOM's assocation members gave a full show of hands in support of his candidacy.

The decision was announced at a San Diego pharmaceuticals company during midday.

Employers who employ more than 50,000 workers in the region joined Faulconer's supporters list. Life sciences jobs in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and health, and bio-renewable energy, during the recovery period lead labor markets in growing fields.

BIOCOM first joined the mayoral race in support of Nathan Fletcher. Last August, the association had asked for Bob Filner's resignation after the former mayor had declined to resign while under pressure from city councilmembers.
