Having a hard time keeping up with the kids? Too tired to do housework, no energy for the gym and can't seem to lose weight? Join the club...the Metabolism B club!
What is Metabolism B? Well I can tell you that I had those same symptoms and decided to research the new book Metabolism Miracle (www.themetabolismmiracle.com) by Diane Kress. She is also a nutritionist and founder of The Nutrition Center of Morristown (www.nutritioncenterofmorristown.com)
Have you ever wondered why your friend can eat a burger with the bun (and fries) and not gain weight, but you so much as take a bite of pasta and your pants are tight? If this sounds like you, you could have Metabolism B. I have had the privilige of not only following the plan, but asking Diane about the program. I am writing this 3 part series that will provide insight, answers and a light at the end of the tunnel to all of us who are waiting for a solution.
What are the symptoms of Metabolism B?
Met B is a genetically mediated type of metabolism….you are born with the genetic propensity to Met B. It seems to follow the gene line of type 2 diabetes. If you looked back into the family history of those with Met B, someone in their lineage had either pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes. In many cases the person doesn’t know of this past family member because years ago (and even today) much diabetes and certainly pre-diabetes goes undiagnosed. Met B is progressive. It starts to show up slowly and then as time passes, the symptoms pick up speed and strength.
Symptoms include:
What about my labwork?(Fasting labs only) And my family history?
Glucose under 65 or over 89mg/dL…Met B
Cholesterol over 200…can be Met B
LDL cholesterol over 99…can be Met B
HDL cholesterol under 50…can be Met B
Triglycerides over 99…can be Met B
Hemoglobin A1C….under 5.4 or over 5.8 ….can be Met B
Fasting Insulin…over 2.5 ….can be Met B
