Fathima Rifqa Bary
Last Friday, Circuit Judge Daniel Dawson issued an order that Fathima Rifqa Bary remain in a Florida foster home until the Florida Department of Law Enforcement concludes its investigation as to whether Bary would be endangered by being returned to her parent's home in Ohio. Bary ran away from her home last month and went to Florida seeking shelter from a pastor and his family whom she had met on Facebook. She has stated the reason she ran away was out of fear for her life because she had converted to Christianity, her Muslim father having threatened her life for doing so. Bary's next scheduled court date is September 3.
An interesting side note to the story comes courtesy of Pamela Geller, author of the Atlas Shrugs blog. Bary's father legally dissolved his jewelry business on July 29 of this year. Given that the business was apparently quite successful, with nearly a quarter of a million dollars in annual sales, the question of why he took this action is raised. Geller speculates the reason may be so he could leave the country with family, including Fathima, in tow and return to his native Sri Lanka where there would be no American judicial or religious oversight.
What is known for certain is that all Christians should keep this young woman in their prayers, lifting her up and asking that she be allowed to freely practice her faith in Christ along with finding peace, safety and justice.

What, exactly, is the cause and effect relationship between an old business license lapsing (the State of New York administratively dissolved the license for inactivity, which is what happens when you live in New York for a while. By definition, the licensee has taken no action at all in order for the license to lapse for inactivity) and intending to leave the country?

in the U.S. recent "honour" crimes Georgia Islamic man murdered his daughter because she refused to take part in anaranged marrige.In New York an Islamic man repeatedly stabbed his 19 year old sister for wearing immodest clothes. In Texas an Islamic Man murdered his 17 and 18 year old daughters for dating non islamic boys. Ontario Canada an Islamic man strangled his 16 year old daugther for wearing "western" clothes at school. In the U.K. therether have been 17,000 Islamic "honour" crimes.
These crimes are permissable and at times required by the Koran, Rifqa's life is at stake. Pseudo-intellectuals who think they are showing tolerance towards Islam by desiring to put this girls life at risk are truly ignorant of what Islam is. It is sick that people are willing to see harm come to this girl just so they can feel justified in their anti christian rants
Tbone how and when was christianity used to justify slavery? how and when was Christianity used to justify rape? How was it used to justify the Genocide of American Indians? please cite examples of Christians raping little boys or blowing up buildings. Christianity and its teachings do not condone rape or homosexuality. The koran does teach killing apostates, hunting christians and jews, beating women, and much more violence. Shariah law is derived from the teachings of the koran. If Islamic founding doctrine teaches violence, Muhammad enforced nhis reliion through violence, Islamic laws teach violence, and so many of Islamic mosques teach violence then why would you believe that Islam doesn't espouse violence? As far as your statement that Islam could mean peace you should know that When muslims look for their Messiah to bring peace they expect him to bring all others into submission to Islam that is what they call peace. skip cable news and study the history of Islam read the koran

People keep bringing up the violent acts "Muslims do to their kids or wives" but no one brings up the violent acts the rest of the world does, remember that Austrian guy who locked his daughter in his basement for over a decade and repeatedly raped her?
