There is a new principal at Jones Elementary at Ms. Teresa Twedell. She is very interested in having an active PTA and Watchdogs Programs. The Watch D.O.G.S. program kicked off on September 26, 2013 with a pizza party introduction at Jones Elementary.
Ms. Twedell is interested in increasing the participation in the program. She is a welcomed new change to Jones Elementary. Participation in the Watch D.O.G.S. program has decreased over the last two years. Fathers, please return to the school now.
Watch D.O.G.S. stands for Dads of Great Students. The goals of the program are to engage and inspire students, reduce bullying, and enhance the educational environment of the school. Also, the program is an initiative organized by the National Center of Fathering in order to increase the number of positive male role models in the schools.
Fathers or father figures are welcome to sign up for the program. Then, they will have an opportunity to choose what day they can volunteer at the school. There will be a flexible schedule and fathers may choose what day they would like to volunteer at the school. The principal is truly interested and increasing the participation in the program and fathers or father figures participating in the programs. Our students benefit from our involvement in their schools. If you are interested in the program, sign-up information is available in the Jones Elementary School office. Again, fathers or father figures you are welcome and invited to return to the school now.
