Fun Activities for Dad and the Entire Family this Father's Day Weekend in KC, June 19-20, 2010

Father's Day is this Sunday, June 20, 2010.  Kansas City families can save money at many fun local attractions this Father's Day, when dads are treated to free admission.

Father's Day at the Kansas City Zoo:  This Sunday, dads can visit the KC Zoo for FREE and get a free hot dog or bratwurst for lunch.  Visit the Kansas City Zoo's website for more details.

The Truman Library is offering FREE admission for fathers this Father's Day.  View The Truman Presidential Library's calendar of events here.  

The Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center wants Dad to bring the whole family to Hutchinson, Kansas, this Sunday.  Dads get in FREE with any paid admission to any or all venues at the Cosmosphere on Father's Day.  Ready for a Father's Day road trip?  The Cosmosphere is 240 miles from Kansas City, but well worth the trip for anyone interested in space exploration.

Belton, Grandview, and Kansas City Railroad:  Dad can ride the train for FREE with a paid child's admission this Father's Day.  Visit the website or call (816) 331-0630.  Tickets must be purchased with cash or check.

The whole family can attend these events for free on Father's Day Weekend in Kansas City:

Shatto Milk Company's Family Day at the Farm is this Saturday, June 19, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Tour this local family dairy farm in Osborn, Missouri, and enjoy lots of FREE family activities.  Go here for more information. 

Splash and Play Block Party in Shawnee:  This Saturday, June 19, head to the parking lot between Wonderscope Children's Museum and the Splash Cove pool for fun FREE family activities from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  Check out Wonderscope's calendar of events here.

Dad and the kids can hit the local Toys 'R' Us this Saturday, June 19, for the LEGO Family Creation Challenge.  From noon to 2 p.m., kids can build their own LEGO creation.  "Plus, build a cool creation that Dad will love!"  Check out this week's Toys 'R' Us specials here

Enjoy the Kansas City Chalk & Walk Festival this Saturday and Sunday, June 19-20, in Crown Center Square.  Watch street painters and performers, and take part in special kids' activities.  Learn more about this FREE family event here.

    So much to choose from! Everything sounds fun but the Splash and Play Block Party would win if we lived closer.
