Father of Santa Barbara victim blames gun laws

The father of the Santa Barbara victim is upset at the NRA and politicians because of the rampage that murdered 7 people including the perpetrator and it is blood on their hands:

Why did Chris die? Chris died because of craven, irresponsible politicians and the NRA. They talk about gun rights, what about Chris' right to live?...When will this insanity stop?...When will enough people say, stop this madness, we don't have to live like this? Too many have died. We should say to ourselves -- not one more.

The father reasons that if gun laws were stricter or if there was an outright ban, the murderer would have been a fine upstanding citizen because he would have been respectful of gun regulations. Since the laws are presumably loose, the shooter saw it as a license to kill.

But what about homicide? That's a law too. The shooter had no respect for life or laws forbidding killing innocent individuals. Are we supposed to reason that he would be more afraid of gun regulations than the laws of capital murder? Let's answer the question: no, of course not.

Anti-gun people can't fathom us living a normal life unless we have "politicians" guiding us on how we determine right from wrong. The shooter thought nothing of killing, but he would have thought twice if the method of his doings were illegal? That's ridiculous.

And that's the absurdity of the anti-gun lobby. They blame "the NRA" because they are the "gun lobby" and when someone kills another person it is because existing gun laws allow for it and we're supposed to think that homicide laws are a lessor infraction in the minds of the likes of the Santa Barbara shooter and all the other murderers out there.
