Just days after a 14-month-old baby boy was killed by two pit bulls, the baby’s father has spoken out today for the first time.
On his facebook page, the baby’s father updated his status to say, “Please God take my life and give it to Dax. It should have been me.”
The baby, now identified as Dax Borchardt was killed over the weekend after two pit bulls turned on their owner, and then killed the baby boy. The owner of the pit bulls, Susan Iwicki was babysitting Dax at the time when suddenly the dogs attacked her and then went for the baby.
Dax’s father, now identified as Jeff Borchardt vowed on his Facebook page to begin working towards the virtual extinction of the breed, saying “I will do everything in my power to make sure this breed is out of existence…these pit bulls were not abused, mistreated or harmed in any way. They are naturally wired to bite down on flesh and not let go.”
In further postings, Jeff wrote, “I always thought my little Chihuahua would be murdered by a pit bull. I never thought it would be our baby boy.”
Both pit bulls were euthanized after the attack. The sheriff’s department and the district attorney are still not answering questions as to whether Iwicki will face any criminal charges.

*Reporter's Note: I do not choose what happens in the news and have no control over what type of breed attacks. All dogs can be dangerous. As I have received death threats due to a defamatory article that was written about me and never retracted, I feel it important to note that I only report. In many of my stories, I choose to use dog* (with the asterisk next to it) so that individual readers may do their own investigation as to what type of dog was involved in each incident. I receive news tips that are tailored to "Dog Attacks" that do not include one specific breed. ~ Joshua-Paul Angell
