A father tossed his toddler from a 14-story window then leaped to his death in NYC’s Upper West Side. The three-year-old boy was in Christmas pajamas when his 30-year-old father ended his life by dropping him out the window of the high-rise building. Following the boy's fall, the father jumped out the same window to his death, according to the New York Post Dec. 22.
The unidentified man and his son died from this horrific incident that took place at the South Park Tower, the 52-story upper class apartment building at 124 W. 60th Street. Both the toddler and the father landed on the adjacent building’s roof.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and witnesses say the paramedics rushed the child to the hospital where they were seen doing chest compressions on the child. The child was pronounced dead shortly after he arrived at the hospital.
Luis Ortiz, who was at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital at the time the child was brought in by ambulance, witnessed the paramedics frantically trying to save the toddler's life. He said you could see that the child was slipping away as they pumped his chest and worked on the boy trying to save him, but it was to no avail.
A source at the apartment building told the New York Post that the boy and his father did not live in the apartment building.
