Monday, a letter written by a dad who disowned his daughter has gone viral. Wait, there's more: She rejected her son because he is gay and her father merely returned the favor in a heartfelt letter denouncing the young boy's homophobic mom, citing an October 2 Shine report via Yahoo News.
It reads like something from a SNL sketch, but this strange news story is real; reportedly, an anti-gay group, which is supporting the man's cause, received confirmation about the epic letter. And when a dad disowns his daughter, the buzz goes viral.
An unidentified man who wrote a handwritten letter to his daughter, Christine, and signed it with "Dad," expressed his dismay over her apparently kicking her son out of the home because -- get this -- he's gay.
I'm disappointed in you as a daughter. You're correct that we have a 'shame in the family,' but mistaken about what it is. Kicking Chad out of your home simply because he told you he was gay is the real 'abomination' here. A parent disowning her child is what goes 'against nature.' The only intelligent thing I heard you saying in all this was that 'you didn't raise your son to be gay," the letter read in part.
Yes, the angry father disowned his daughter.
And, perhaps, the most stinging part of the letter, posted on FCKH8's Facebook page, is when he writes:
So, while we are in the business of disowning our children, I think I’ll take this moment to say goodbye to you. I now have a fabulous (as the gays put it) grandson to raise, and I don’t have time for heart-less B-word of a daughter. If you find your heart, give us a call. – Dad."
Since the posting of the man's letter, it has gone viral; a sign of how many are pushing back to anti-gay and lesbian bias.
The father who disowned his daughter has yet to come forward. However, his letter speaks volumes.
