A father and son were killed in a fast moving house fire on the 12000 block of Salina Place January 11 2014. Firefighters arrived and were hampered by an extreme amount of clutter . in fact, firefighters spent hours clearing out burnt debris long after the blaze was declared under control. "There was debris everywhere", said Philadelphia Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers.

The blaze broke out just after 9:00 a.m. and was brought under control . There was one working smoke detector in the basement. the identities of both men have not been released. Fire crews remained on scene well into the afternoon .

A crowd of board up companies and public adjusters staked out spots across the street, ready to solicit business from relatives that would arrive at the scene.
