Fat Heads advances to "Elite Eight"

The National IPA challenge (NIPAC) sponsored annually by the Brewing News is on. It started with the first round on February 16 with 128 brews from around the country, and included IPAs from Fat Head's, Brew Kettle, Chardon Brew Works, Great Lakes Brewing, Willoughby Brewing, Nano Brew Cleveland, Market Garden Brewery, and Hoppin' Frog Brewery. The competition works like the "March Madness" NCAA brackets, in that each beer is paired against one other, with the winner of each pairing advancing to the next round.

We are now down to the Elite Eight, the latest round having been completed today. The final round will be held in Buffalo on March 16, and Fat Head's IBUsive IPA is the only Ohio beer still in the running, beating out the Green Flash West Coast IPA in the last round. Fat Head's has won this competition in the past, and is looking to bring home the honors again. The next round pits it against ABQ Brewpub's "In the Mood" IPA.
