80's Glam Metal sleaze rockers Faster Pussycat and LA Guns brought their show to the Whiskey Tango on Bustleton Ave. last night. The bands show was just as lewd and rude as anything they did in the 1980's.  Line up changes,  and some confusion as to the name LA Guns were not even an issue. The only issue was how loud could it get.

There are two versions of LA Guns touring. One with original singer Phil Lewis, and the other with Jizzy Pearl, on vocals and Tracii Guns on Guitar. Tracii brought his version into town. The vocals did not matter because the crowd was singing the lyrics right along with the band. "Never Enough"  "Rip and Tear" and "Sex Action" were all played.  LA Guns were only on stage for about an hour, not nearly enough time.

The crowd was there in force. For a few hours it seemed like it was back in the 1980's.  The club was packed but not so packed so that you could not move. Promoter Bill Price brought the show into town. Those who feared a late night with the last band getting off stage a few minutes prior to 2:00 AM would be wrong.  Faster Pussycat closed the show out by 1:15 AM.  Taimie Downe, dressed in an outfit that words cannot describe dominated the show, topped off in a military style hat.  Downe chain smoked cigarettes while on stage,  which further added to the mystique of Faster Pussycat.  Downe  was a recluse for most of the evening. While his band mates mingles  throughout the venue, Downe was nowhere to be seen. They played just about all the songs people remembered. "House of Pain"  "Slip of the Tounge"  " Porn Star were all played, as was "Sex Drugs,  & Rock and Roll".  The title of their newest release , which is a live CD is titled "Front Row for the Donkey Show".

Philly favorite  and native John Corabi, is also on this bill. The crowd was most vocal for Corabi, as he took the stage  for almost an hour. Corabi is best known for his stint as Motley Crue's lead singer as well as the project he did with Union. Corabi is on tour with LA Guns and Faster Pussycat as they careen through the United States.  Opening the show was  Sinners Saints. They are a Philly band that fit right in the bill . With enough time, and the proper exposure, this band could be headlining larger venues.
