Inspired by a true story, "Fast And Furious," is a franchise of movies that first aired under the title "The Fast And The Furious" in 2001 with Rob Cohen directing. The upcoming movie directed by Justin Lin was currently in production until the untimely death of one of it's lead actors Paul Walker.
The original cast includes Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and Ja Rule. The more recent cast includes rapper Ludacris and Dwayne Johnson.
"The Fast And The Furious" Synopsis/Plot
When a Los Angeles cop goes undercover to investigate the dark world of illegal street racing on the mean streets of Los Angeles for the first time, he falls in love with the dangerous sport and the ring leader's sister. Will he expose the illegal street racing world or will he keep their secret?
The movie has themes of illegal street racing, Japanese cars, car theft, high-speed chases and car explosions.
According to Business Insider, the true story on which "Fast And Furious" is based, first appeared in a Vibe magazine article written by Ken Li. The title of the article was "Racer X," which told the story of Dominican street racer Rafael Estevez, a man from Washington Heights, NY.
"The Fast and The Furious" movie director Rob Cohen became fascinated with the story when he read the article and later witnessed a late-night street racing event in Los Angeles.
Filming for the current "Fast And Furious" movie is presently on hold.
