The movie “Fast and Furious 7” will make it to the screen after all and while the release date has been pushed a bit into the future, the movie is set to continue filming. The seventh installment of “Fast and Furious” was on hold after one of the stars, Paul Walker, died in a horrific car accident in November.
According to ABC News on Dec. 23, it wasn’t until Vin Diesel released a statement over the weekend on Facebook that the fate of “Fast and Furious 7” was made public. Before Walker died, the release date was July of 2014. The fate of the movie was unknown until now. No one was sure if they would continue filming the movie without Walker's character, who had started filming before his accident.
Walker died while the movie was taking a break from filming on Nov. 30, just a few days before the vacation from the shoot was over. The cast was due to resume filming on Dec. 2, but because of Walker’s death, that was put on hold.
With the decision made about what to do about Walker’s sudden demise in the movie, the filming will continue, but the new release date is pushed to April 10, 2015. There is no word on how the film will deal with one of the stars suddenly gone.
Vin Diesel, the star of the “Fast and Furious” movies wrote on Facebook:
“There was a unique sense of completion, of pride we shared… in the film we were now completing … the magic captured … and, in just how far we’ve come … Fast and Furious 7 will be released … April 10, 2015! P.s. He’d want you to know first …,”.
Walker was reprising the role of the an undercover cop and federal agent who turned criminal, Brian O’Connor.
