Fashionista on a budget

Louis Vuitton Galliera PM
Louis Vuitton Galliera PM

So, you are a die-hard fashionista at heart but your wallet says something else. You find yourself lusting after the beautiful new Louis Vuitton Galliera PM Damier Azur (my current love but at $1,280 it is very unattainable!).

You are not alone! This is the case for many college students as well as budget-conscious divas. Although you may want the best of the best and hate not being able to get it now – remember, you are making smart decisions by not getting into debt over a purse.

All it takes is an eye for fashion and a little bit of attitude to have ‘designer’ style.

Keep an eye out for styles that resemble the designer style that you love. Now, keep in mind that many designers like to imitate top designer styles (whether it be purses, clothes, etc) and they often fall short from the mark. They end up looking ‘cheap’ and therefore it makes you stand out for having an imitation bag. This is not what you want. Instead look for shapes that you like. For instance, if you like the shoulder bag/totes, then focus on that rather than the actual design on the bag. You may find a nice patent leather red tote that you fall in love with at TJ Maxx.

Once you find the bag that will suit your fashion needs (for the time being), it is important that you carry it with confidence! If you believe that your bag compliments your outfit and are happy with it – I promise, you will get compliments. So take a risk and carry that patent leather red bag with black slacks and a white button-up shirt. It will be just the pop of color the outfit needs and will get lots of compliments. Isn’t that what all fashionista’s are after anyway?
