Dena Yoba, the daughter of "New York Undercover" star Malik Yoba, has grown to love the industry of fashion design, unlike her fathers' love of acting. Only 12 years old, Dena has shown maturity beyond her years, developing a fashion line that she says is accommodating for all women. Her clothing line, Dena Yoba Designs, made its debut during the Jon Gheri theatrical fashion show October 12 at the downtown Los Angeles Hilton.
The show organizer and featured designer, Jon Gheri, is known for her custom designed wedding gowns. Living and breathing fashion design, Jon Gheri Courtier has made a name for designing gowns and unique fashions for clients. Active in the community, Gheri has given a part of the proceeds from the show to the charity Nourishing Minds of our Youth. NMOY is a nonprofit agency providing mentoring programs for middle and high school girls living in Pasadena California.
The show featured designs from the 1920's to the present day. Showing the most popular styles of each decade, the audience could not wait to see what was next. Always giving back, standby for Jon Gheri to feature younger women like Dena Yoba in the future, to inspire them to grow into their own identity.
