Dominican designer Hernan Lander showed his RTW Fall '13 collection at Lincoln Center on Monday. Lander's latest line focused primarily on evening wear and featured a palette of mostly white, black, tan and brown. Femininity reigned supreme as models donned body-con and sheer dresses and skirts.
“My grandmother has always been my greatest inspiration,” Lander told NBC Latino. “She taught me how to sew and make the feminine body the primary focus of any design.”
Most shapes were architecturally influenced with graphic lines and asymmetrical hems. Many styles featured a cutout design, something that has been ubiquitous on the fall runways. Highlights included a silk sheer black dress covered in draping in addition to a grey fur vest over a silk pleated maxi skirt.
On the beauty side, hair was pulled back into a ponytail and the face was left natural except for a very smoky eye designed by NYX cosmetics.
