Fashion week highlight: Charlotte Ronson's presentaton plus beauty report (Photos)

This season, Charlotte Ronson held her Fall 2013 presentation at the Box. We began our journey backstage where the models were getting prepped for the show.

We spoke with Simcha Whitehill A.K.A. “Miss Pop" of Color Club who told us about the nails look:

"This season Charlotte was really inspired by ‘60s mods. So, we wanted to give her sort of a bold, poppy look that kind of reflected the same sentiment. So we went with a picture frame nail, which is actually just like she’s bringing the mod back. It’s actually a really hot trend right now. It’s basically thinly outlining your nail in a contrasting color. So, we did it in five different shades actually. We created two custom gray shades. There’s so many gray with the designers we’re working with. And I think as much as the spring is about black and white, the fall is in fact going to be about gray. So we did a deep blue and a sand color, bright purple and a emerald green, the color of the air. We did a purple and a red. We did five different color stories to match the different color stories in Charlotte’s fall collection. And the great thing about this look is if you can polish your nails, you can do this look. It’s just polishing your nails twice. So, if you lay down your basic coat of color, and then you give it a minute to dry, and then you imagine your nail is just a smidgen smaller, you polish the same way you did. And it should leave a dark hue around of the first color that you lay down. And then all you need to do is edge it with a French tip and you’re done. That’s a picture frame nail. Now, we did it in a square shape ’cause that’s the most mod, but you don’t have to put this look in a box, for lack of a better word. If you have a round shape nail, you can do it round. If you have oval, it can be oval. Just follow the natural shape of your nail."

The beauty look for the Fall 2013 Charlotte Ronson runway show features a modern yet subtle take on a cat eye. Embodying Charlotte’s effortlessly chic beauty philosophy, SEPHORA PRO created a face that highlights the structures of the cheekbones by using earthy tones and enhancing the shape of the eyes with a straight-lined lid. To create the face, SEPHORA PRO, led by Lead Artist Sara Biria, used the following products:

For the eyes:

• Stila In The Know Eye Shadow Palette
• Givenchy Magic Khol Eye Liner Pencil in Black
• Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink
• Dior DiorShow Mascara in Black

Tip: To modernize the cat eye, create a straight wing that extends to the outer corners of the eyes instead of curving upwards. Apply a gel liner to the pencil trace to give it a glossy finish with lasting wear.

For the face:

• Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20
• Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Concealer

Tip: To highlight the contours of the face and illuminize the complexion, apply a brightening concealer above and around the eyes.

Then we headed in to the presentation. Samantha Ronson was on the turntables. Holland Roden, Angela Simmons, Lydia Hearst, Nicky Hilton, Alexa Ray Joel, Zoe Lister Jones, Dani Stahl, Tinsley Mortimer were a few of the celebrities that we spotted at the presentation. "I decided to go back to my roots, my British heritage," she explained. "[My collection] has a '60s feel—a lot of A-line skirts and higher necklines—and the makeup and hair is inspired by the '60s but also has a very modern feel," Ronson told E! News about her inspiration.

Charlotte Ronson celebrated her F/W 2013 collection with an after party at 1 OAK. Ronson was joined by Nicky Hilton, Hannah Bronfman, and family and friends while sister Samantha Ronson served up tunes for the evening.
