Fashion Week Brooklyn features some of the hottest emerging designers from around the world G. Leon clothing is a Philly based designer that is taking menswear to a whole another level. I caught up with the designer for a interview and here's what they had to say.

Getthebuzz716: Tell me a little about your brand. Where are you from?

G. Leon: G. Leon is a contemporary menswear brand dedicated to my grandfather who fell victim to murder in 2013. I was born and raised in Philadelphia.

Getthebuzz716: What does fashion week Brooklyn mean to you?

G. Leon: Being from Philadelphia I've had plenty of opportunity to showcase in Philadelphia shows, Brooklyn fashion week is an opportunity to reach a new market and expand G.Leon's presence.

Getthebuzz716: How would you define your Brand ?

G. Leon : G.Leon is defined by not having boundaries. I love to mix prints and create funky prints that can mesh well in a tailored look.

Getthebuzz716: How long does it usually take you to construct a piece?

G. Leon : I create garments from start, which is sketching, to finish which is actually creating a pattern and sewing and also maybe even dyeing the fabrics according to the desired look. Gaments can take anywhere from a day to a week to create with the right timing.

Getthebuzz716: Describe the general process you go through to design and What's your favorite part about conceptualizing a design?

G. Leon : I seek inspiration in a lot and once I'm truly inspired I begin sketching and playing with fabrics. My favorite part about conceptualizing a design is the end piece, watching my sketch evolve into a wearable garment.

Getthebuzz716: What matters to you most as a designer?

G. Leon : What matters to me most is being able to visualize an idea and that idea praised by the client. The customer is most important.

Getthebuzz716: What do you believe makes a quality design ?

G. Leon : Wearability, functionality and aesthetic.

Getthebuzz716: How would you define the style your line exemplifies?

G. Leon : My line exemplifies a confident style. The men wearing my garments aren't afraid to step outside of the box wth color.

Getthebuzz716: What are some of your fashion goals?

G. Leon : I aspire to inspire. I would love to conquer many fashion capitals and make G.Leon a recognizable brand.

Getthebuzz716: What other experience do you have in the fashion industry (stylist, retail, marketing, etc.)?

G. Leon : Stylist and retail.

Getthebuzz716: What are your favorite patterns/materials [prints] to work with and why?

G. Leon : I love some of the traditional prints like herringbone, but I also love to create my own prints to fully mesh the roots of art in my fashion.
