Fashion Uncorked 2013 was held this past weekend at AmericasMart. Fashion Uncorked is a Project Runway inspired competition where emerging Atlanta designers compete for a chance to win a trip to LA Fashion week, show their collection at New Orleans Fashion Week 2014 and a spread in Kontrol Magazine.
Benefiting the Easter Seals of North Georgia, guests enjoyed a fashion preview from last year's winner, Sidratu Maju, food samples from Imperial Fez, Lisa Barton Catering, and Heavenly Dolce, entertainment from the Atlanta Ballet, and an artist showcase from Ghazaleh Coulter.
The designers competed in three categories, Children's Wear, Day Wear, and Evening Wear. The competition was fierce and some of the designers showed some fabulous designs. Check out the slideshow of some our favorites from the night.
It was a competition so the judges had to decide on a winner. Keon Brown, a newbie to Atlanta took home the gold. He wowed the crowd with his statement evening gown with a rosette bottom. He says for his collection that he was strongly inspired by the "Sunflower Jewelry Collection." Keon definitely has an eye for design and we can't wait to see more from him.
