The winter months are finally kicking in, but that doesn’t mean fabulous footwear has to go into hibernation. There are a dozen dinners and dates that we attend during the winter months, so don’t leave your feet in the cold. Check out the hot styles for this season and where to get them for less.
Jean Paul Gaultier showed these stunning, graphic, slingback platform wedges at his Spring/Summer 2012 Haute-Couture Show at Paris Fashion Week. They’re a mash up of African ethnicity and film noir style. Urban Outfitters has released a similar pair for only $69.00. These Kimchi Blue Woven Slingback Platforms in brown would look superb with black tights and a tan, black, or brown mini dress (to balance the height of the shoes.)
Actress Chloe Moretz stepped out in these black tie, tuxedo-inspired pumps at the Jason Wu For Target launch. The white collar detail on the ankle brings the whole look together at the back. Charlotte Russe has taken this trend and transferred it to a bow-wrapped ankle boot coming in at only $32.50. When wearing these booties, make sure you display the bow detail (that is the focal point.) Pair these with a bright solid dress hitting right at the knee or a few inches shorter to make these masculine booties a little more feminine.
A classic stiletto pump is always on trend and adding a pop of red adds a touch of daring to any outfit. Actress Jennifer Gimenez wore a pair at the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center’s ‘An Evening.’ These pumps looked a little too plain for my taste, so I found these retro red open toe platforms at Forever 21 for $26.80. Wear a solid black or white dress, or for more of a unique look, pair the pumps with a black and white print dress.
Actress Elizabeth Banks recently attended the premiere of Man on a Ledge at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in rock and roll gold studded heels. Studs have been popular on shoes for a few years now and it’s time to jump in on the trend. Shi By Journeys has a pair of rock-N-roll heels in black for $79.99. These heels are solid black so pair them with a pop of color or a crazy printed dress.
